Problem with Linked OLE fields

Hi there

I'm having a very strange problem with an OLE field in an Access
database. The field in question contains a mixture of embedded and
linked PowerPoint presentations. The embedded presentations work just
as you'd expect - I can right click on a field in the table and choose
edit, which will open the presentation in PowerPoint. However, the
linked fields throw an error:

'..can't open the file containing the OLE object'.

This is universal for every linked presentation. However, the plot
thickens; when I view the field via a form with a bound object frame,
no problems at all. I can right click and edit etc. In addition, on the
table right clicking and choosing copy also works as expected. This is
with Access 2003. Can anyone shed any light, or point me in the right
direction?

Thanks

Fortunately you are providing forms for users to access the data,
rather than allowing them to manipulate the tables directly ;-), so
this is only a minor inconvenience for the developer only.
