Append or Update?

P: n/a
Hi!

In my database I have a wish to return certain data to tblItemAmount,
which is related to tblItem:

tblItem(one)->tblItemAmount(many)

On tblOrderDetails I have a return field (Yes/No).

Now, when user - on frmOrderdetials - chooses to return an item, he'll
check the return field and click OK on a button that is on frmOrders.

He'll click a button on frmOrders - btnOK - and the present record will
be saved to disk.

A query, qryReturningOrders, is set to pick all records from present
order, through the OrderID - and Date field, where chkReturned = true.

The OrderID, Date and Returning fields in the query are all set to
correspond to the same fields in frmOrders and frmOrderdetails.

This works fine, as I have checked with the report - RETURNING ITEMS -
that this works.

My confusion is that I want to return and insert these Items, which has
frmOrderdetails.chkReturned = true and ItemID=frmOrderdetails.ItemID,
into tblItemAmount.

(The amount fields in both tables are of same format)

Should I use an append or insert query? What is the best approach?

Hope somebody can guide me oin this.
