Table security

P: n/a
Hi

I am looking for simple security on a single table in database. This table
needs to be accessed only by a specific user (picked up from windows login)
and no one else. What is the way to achieve this?

Thanks

That depends on several factors.
First you have to understand Access security is vulnerable to attack.
You can buy a password cracker online.
Second, users typically have no business with the tables. Don't even
explain to them how to access them. Hide the database window. Train
them to use the forms and reports your UI provides.
To pick up the name of the logged in user, use code like this:

Assuming the table is not part of a relationship, move it to a new MDB file.
Store the file in a folder only that user can access. Link the table to your
front end.
