auto-updating a table based on a linked table

P: n/a
Dan
I have an access database that contains a linked dbf table that is
based on a shapefile in ARC-Editor. I would like to auto-update a
table based on the new records that have been entered into GIS.
Currently I am cutting and pasting new records from the linked table
into my access table, and I have considered running an append query
periodically but it would be optimal to automate this process.
Unfortunately I cannot seem to cascade related fields because GIS
creates its objectID or primary key for shapefiles in an attribute
field that is exclusive to ESRI software and is not linked to the
Access database. Any ideas or creative solutions are welcome. Thank
you in Advance.
