validating duplicate records

P: n/a
I have a form where social security number is entered. Once entered, I
would like it to be validated against a master social security number
table. If the number is on the master table, continue filling in the
form. If it isn't, I want a message saying the social security number
does not exist and it needs to be entered on the master table first.
How would I go about doing this?

use a combobox and use the OnNotInList event to add it to the
underlying table.
