linking to images with std windows dialog box

P: n/a
I have an OLE Object field that I want to link to image files on the hard
drive. From a form, I want users to be able to double click the field and
have that bring up a standard windows dialog box to select the image rather
than having to right click the field, select Insert Object and then manually
select "Create from file" and check of "Link". Any thoughts on where to
begin?

Hi James,

You shall use "Microsoft common dialog control", you can find this
control by press on "More Control" button and scroll down till you'll
see "Microsoft common dialog control 6.0" this button appears right to
the standard controls and it's Icon is similar to the toolbox icon.
In this control you can open a dialog for opening file(actually it's
only get the path that you explorer for), and when you'll select the
file you can get is name(path of thefile) by is property <common dialog
name>.FileName.

Hope I helped, Haim Rubin.

use that, and then just store the file path... store as text, format as
a hyperlink. You might want to check out Randy Birch's site for
converting the paths to UNC paths if they're on networked drives.
