Could you not just enclose the FileDateTime function with DateValue??

Something like DateValue (FileDateTime("C:\YourFilePath.txt"))

Regards,

Mark

Remember, using Format will create a string. It's best to stuff a table
field with the date and use Format for the display. Also, if you use a
Now() type value with date/time and you query on date ranges, you need
to add an extra day to the range. For example, Between #1/1/2006# And
#1/1/2006# will return only records on 1/1/2006 with a time of 00:00:00.
You would want Between #1/1/2006# And #1/2/2006# to get records with
any other time but 00:00:00.
