Simple Query Question

Writing a simple query, and I want a new filed to return true or false
based on if there is info in that field.

For example, my table has a place to store a phone number. I want to
create an expression in my query called PHONE_ENTERED and if the phone
number field in my table is blank, I want PHONE_ENTERED to be False,
otherwise I want it to be true.

This has to be an easy fix, right?

why not just search for something like

SELECT <field list>
FROM <some table>
WHERE PhoneNumber IS NULL

or would that be too easy?
