Emailing from Access

I have two questions regarding emailing from Access.
My first question relates to how many email addresses is too much. I
have a client who wants to email 1500 people at once. Is this possible
or smart? what would be a reasonable number?
My second question is related to emailing customers who have an
anniversary or a Birthday. Is it possible to personalize each email with
a name?

TIA
Tim

I have a contacts database with about 4000 names that regulary got an
email.
Since a few months we have an exchange server with limitation that we
can sent emails to maximum 100 addresses at a time.
I changed now the application so that it now sends individual messages
to everyone from within MS-Access rather than collecting the addresses
and parsing them to Outlook
