Hi Gang
I have a simple single table that has many duplicate rows in them. The
distinctrows only works on more than one table. Is there a quick and
easy way to select only the distict rows from one table?
Regards,
Andy
Your table really has identical rows - every column? This means there can't
be a primary key, nor is there any way to tell one row from another - so it
doesn't matter which one of the duplicates you select.
Set the Distinct Values property on the query which generates a query like:
SELECT DISTINCT * FROM Table1
PS I don't think I would state 'distinct rows only works on multiple
tables'. However, if only one table is involved then it should return the
same number of rows as are in the table - that's what you asked it to do.
