subform visibility should change depending on drop down selection

I have a database for filing warranty claims. It includes a subform where
part numbers can be entered and the prices automatically update based on the
part number and quantity entered. However, I am using this database for 2
factories, one of which I have access to the parts database and can
automatically populate price fields, descriptions, etc. But I have no data
for the parts from the other factory.

Therefore, what I want to do is have a subform that becomes visible upon the
AfterUpdate event of a model field (Models are specific to each factory). I
would also like to change the tab order so that I could just tab right into
the form that is now visible. On form open, I want it to default to the form
that populates automatically ( the form I already have). But if I select a
certain model the other form should become visible in the same spot as the
default subform. Then I should be able to tab into and out of it just as if
I were in the default form.

If I use the record selectors or other buttons to change records in my main
form, I want the correct subform to display depending on which model number
is selected.

How would I accomplish this? I have minimal experience in VB, but I know the
basics.

The database has been in use for a while and has over 1500 records in it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Shannan
