Store files on SQL Database

I have an .adp (Access 2003) file and I need to store files in a field
on the database.

I have figured out that I need the data type to be 'Image', so I have
my table with the this datatype.

I can't figure out how to upload/store files (.bmp, .doc, .xls, etc) in
this field.

I have been searching books online, and google groups all day. Maybe my
google queries don't have the correct questions.

Anyway how do I go about loading, and reading the data that I store in
this field?

I have an issues database that the users want to be able to store files
with the issues.

I usually just store a link to the file on a file server. I've yet to find a
compelling reason to store it inside the DB in my project so far.

In this case users are from differn't dept with the organization and
don't have access to the same file servers.
