Multipy Entries tying to same reference table

I have an access database where I have a main table built where records
are being inserted from a web page. I have several fields that
reference the same table. For example in this form you can enter more
that one employee to be tied to this one record. I have the web form
inserting just the employee number which is the Primary key in my
employee table.
Now in my employee table I have last name, first name etc....
The issue I am having is that when I build a query I can create a
relationship between the employee_id in the main table to employee_id
in the employee table. I run into issues when I try and create a
relationship between employee_id1 in the main table to employee_id in
the employee table. When I add my Last Name field from my employee
table to my query I get no results if both fields are tied to the same
table. If i remove one it works as expected. My question is how do I
build a query where I reference the employee table for all three
employee fields that are in my main table.

Thanks

Brian
