P: n/a
I read multiple messages about this but i still can t get it working

i m trying to update my access db using an update query and set a null
(basically empty cell) date value
I tried

Date = Null

but it just won t accept it. I tried different version with '' ## ""

the settings of my database for this field are date/time, short date,
00/00/0000;0;_ and not required
i just don t understand why it is not working

Hmm..
Does the field allow null values? (Required property is False?) If so,

UPDATE MyTable
SET MyDateField = NULL;

will work.

If your field is called "Date" then change it - it's a reserved word in
VBA, VB and SQL.
