Running Metrics off of tracking DB

P: n/a
I am working on compiling a Metrics report (using Pivot tables in
Excel) measuring statistics on an Access 2000 DB which is a front-end
to a series of Oracle 9i tables.

Anyway, I am trying to compile counts for specific recordsand generate
daily reports reflecting these counts

Example of Table Layout

INCIDENT ID TYPE STATUS ASSIGNED TO PRIORITY
REQUESTED BY
0001 code Assigned-WIP Smith, Michael
Critical Davis, Joan
0002 config Ready for QA Smith, Michael Low
Cooke, Bob
0003 code Assigned-WIP Smith, Michael High
Clary, Tony
0004 code Closed Smith, Michael
Critical Davis, Joan

I am trying to compile counts of the number of "Assiged-WIP" on a daily
basis and have the query be the dtasource for the pivot table (allowing
for instant refreshing of the data whenever the user desires)

Any help would be appreciated
