Dismissal and Google Archives (OT)

Suppose that I do not exist. I am a phantom that my prestigious
employer uses to post (sometimes outrageously) without risk to his
reputarion. But in one thread the phantom goes too far and makes posts
which could alienate a portion of the employer's clientele.

Could publicly dismissing the phantom be thought to be a solution for
this problem?

Would removing all the phantom's posts (including posts to newsgroups
which have nothing to do with the phantom's employment) lessen the
chance that his non-existence and the dismissal hoax be discovered?
As the employer and the phantom are one person, would he/she have any
difficulty doing this?

Would dismissing a phantom run afoul of employment regulations in the
country or university or corporation where the phantom employee was
supposed to have worked? Would it demoralize the other employees? Would
it have to be explained to a superordinate?

Would anyone, anywhere need to lose sleep over it?

My therapist tells me that worrying over stuff you have no control over is a
way of not thinking about the stuff you could and should be working on.
Like my deadline for today...

PS Did you get the data?

It crossed my mind. Like I'm sure he's wrong about the reasons I visit
inappropriate websites rather than get on with my Access development.

I got the data but I'm worrying so much about Global Warming,
Terrorism, Aids, American Imperialism, Militant Islam and the recent
election of the Fascists in Canada that I haven't had time to think
about it yet. Thanks!

Exactly how does one accomplish that? It seems to me that more news
servers ignore cancels than honor them (because they've been too
often maliciously forged), so there's no way to remove them from the
archives.

Secondly, the messages have been quoted in replies by other people,
and those can't be cancelled (without forging the cancels; GoTo
previous point).

Do you really think that was all an act? Is pam/sandra/tom still
posting? I have that address blocked.

I've seen many usenet exchanges where someone gets their account revoked
or worse. What I don't often see is someone acknowledging whatever
employer/ISP censure they have received.

I think the comments being stricken you and I spoke about referred to
the data time forum.

It's kind of hard to nuke posts from another person from the Google
archives. But it's not hard to issue a cancel message for posts still
active, though many news servers don't accept cancel messages.
