Compact and repair back end?

If I set the option to compact on exit will the backend compact when all
the front ends close the connection to it? I guess not. In that case, is
there a way to by code in the front end compact the backend?

You must make sure that there are no users accessing data in your
backend tables while you run the Compact and Repair process. It is
recommened that you run the Compact and Repair first thing in the
morning or last thing at night when you can be sure no one is accessing
the data tables.
I'm going to email you a link so that you can download a small utility
I created in Access which allows you to perform Compact and Repair on
one or more mdb files. I provide the application free of charge to
anyone who asks for it. It is an mde file so the application is not
modifiable.
