moving to run time Acc 03

Hi all

Our organisation is moving form Win NT / full version of Acc 97 to Win XP /
run-time version of Acc 03 (as part of Office 03) for the users. We have
heaps of mdbs on the servers - some split, some not.

I would have thought it ok (i.e. other things being equal) to copy a
compiled version of an Acc 97 mdb, convert it (I have a full version of
Access), then copy the 'new' file back to its original location?

Thanks as usual,
Paul

You are moving from the 'best' Office/Windows combination
to a 'not as good as the best' combination.

To get back up to speed, have a look at Tony's page
here http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performancefaq.htm

and Allen Browne here:

If you mean that you expect to be able to "convert" an Access 97 .MDE
(that's what "compiled" indicates to me), then I think you'd best give that
a try before you count on it working.
