problems with a query or quaries

My boss just got some new data tables.

The problem is they are overlapping data and everything is fine.
UNTIL
ok show me everyone in table 1 that doesn't match anyone in table 2.
WHAT?

so he wants every name in one table that doesn't match someone in the
other table??????????

at first I tried to say if its in table 1 and not in table 2 include
it.

but I can't get it to work.
forget matching I need to find no match in a query.

what am I missing here...should this be easy?

thanks for any ideas
