Format dd-mm-yy not working (A2k)

Hi all,
In a converted app (converted from A97 to A2k) I just noticed that the format of a certain datefield is not working properly.
This is with a control (datefield) on a bound form.
When I use a format property like dd-mm-yyyy the date is shown as 27-01-2006 as expected
BUT when using a format property of dd-mm-yy the date still shows as 27-01-2006 .... >:)
(I hardly ever use a format like that, but on a specific form I simply ack space)
When I try a format property of dd-mm it works; date is shown as 27-01

Is this a known problem of A2k or just something weird with my install or regional settings here ??

Just checked other A2k apps: A format property of dd-mm-yy is just not working ...(also not with field props in a table)
Even when I change my regional settings this is not working ????

Any ideas? (For now I 'solve' this by using a format property of dd-mm, but showing the year also would be better...)

Thanks
Arno R

Do you have either of the boxes checked under:
Tools | Options | General | User 4-digit year formatting
