import or link from Excel disfunction

Hi All,

In an Excel XP spreadsheet I have three columns of text information
several of these cells contain more an 255 characters. When I import
the information from the spreadsheet into Access XP, it chops off the
text data at 255 characters. I've tried importing to a 'New' table,
I've tried importing to an existing table where I've changed the field
type to 'memo' and I've tried linking to the spreadsheet and thern
using an append query but I can not get any more then 255 characters to
import into a table.
Any way around this?
thanks
bobh.

Try converting to CSV and importing.
