Access and FTP

P: n/a
I use Access 2000 to download (FTP) a text file from a sever and then
transfer text to import the data into Access.

I use Shell to run FTP and Access doesn't wait for FTP to finish before it
trys to start the the text transfer.

How can I tell Access to wait until the FTP finishes before proceeding?

Put SendKeys("{F9}"), True after your Shell statement.

Go to http://www.mvps.org/access/modules/mdl0037.htm

and use the Internet Data Transfer Library

I'm using this to do exactly what you describe and all is well :)

Somewhere at http://www.mvps.org/access/ under API is a shellwait function.
