run-time error 3073

jj
hi

I have got the following query which I try to run:

UPDATE Qry_temp INNER JOIN Tbl_TEMP ON Qry_temp.Maaned = Tbl_TEMP.Maaned SET
" _
& "Tbl_TEMP.Reklamationer = [Qry_temp]![Antal]

Tbl_temp is a table and qry_temp a query.

when I run the query the run-time error 3073 shows - "You need an updateable
query"

Any surgestion how to solve this

Thanks

Is Qry_temp updateable?

Open Qry_temp in datasheet view and see if you can update values if you
can't then that's your problem.

Hi Terry

Thanks for your answer

It is exactly my problem that I cant update the values, but I'm not sure
what to do then - of cause I can make a table from the query, and then
opdate it from there, but it is not a very good way to do it - because I
need to make this execise many times every day

If you tell us the structure of the tables the query is based on and the SQL
for the query I would think that someone will be able to work out why it's
not updateable and point you in the direction you need to go to achieve
this.

Since I don't know any of the details, I would suggest trying one
trick, and that's using DISTINCTROW in the problematic query. That
can often make an otherwise nonupdatable query updatable, though it
doesn't always work.
