Screen resolutions needed for development enviroment

TD
This question is off topic but you folks have the answers. I do Access
development work at clients offices using my laptop. I want to purchase
a new laptop but I am wondering if I need a laptop that offers more
screen resolutions than just 1024x768 anf 800x600? In retrospec my
current laptop is set at 1024x768 and I've never changed it but I don't
want to box myself in with a machine that does just the 1024x768 anf
800x600 resolutions if I will need more at some point. Also, does
anyone use one of the new wide screen laptops and is this type of
screen a hinderance for Access development work? Any suggestions will
be greatly appreciated and please excuse the off topic question.

In general, you need to develop to fit the minimum screen size your client
uses, so there's not a lot of point in going bigger than 1024 x 768 for
Access development work.

Mine is 1450 wide on a 15" screen. Some clients say they find it hard to
read because the text is small.

Because LCDs are pixel based, whatever screen you buy, you will want to run
it at its native resolution.

Laptop-wise I'm stuck with whatever laptop my company buys me, usually
the cheapest so that's 1024x768 ATM and although like Allen says it's
not limiting on the design of the screens I do prefer the 1280x1024 of
my TFT on the desktop as it allows room for all the toobars, property
boxes, etc around the periphery.
