subform refresh

When I enter a new record in a subform I validate one of the fields using
the Before Update event. If this field is invalid I want to return the
subform to its original state - in other words loose this invalid entry.

Is there a simple way of doing this?

Your help would be genuinely appreciated.

Geoff-
If (entry is not valid) then
msgbox "That entry is not valid"
cancel = true 'this will cancel the update event and put you back where
you were.
end if
