Calendar Control turns white on new record

ken
Hi,
I have an activex calendar control. On the open event of the form I
have the form go to a new record. The form opens with the calendar
control blank. As soon as I enter a value anywhere on the form, the
control shows up?
I'm using access 2k.

Thanks

Is your calendar control bound to anything?

If the calendar control is bound to a field in the underlying
table/query, and no new record actually exists until you start entering
data, your calendar control will have no current record's field to
display, and will therefore not display anything.

All I did was just make a table with some columns..it does not matter
what. I stuck all of them in a form. Then I added a calendar control.
Then I put Docmd.GotoRecord , , acNewRec into the Form_Open. When you
open the form the calendar control is a white square. Once you enter
some data or go back a record it comes back.

Well...I'm able to do what I need done in the onCurrent event. I set up
so that it goes to the new record only once, because I don't want it to
go to a new record everytime I move inbetween records on that form.
I still don't know why I can't use the open event...
