Reading image files from a URL location

dcs
A client has provided me with the http:// intranet location for the
server that contains their image (.jpg) files. Is is possible for
Access to use a URL as a path to render pictures in an Access 2003
form? For example, can Access render an image from
http://pix.mycompany.com/mypicture.jpg? Thanks in advance!

I don't know about doing that in Access 2002 and below (i.e. using
VBA), but Access 2003 has .NET support. You can use the HttpWebRequest
and HttpWebResponse objects. Your code would request the file, store
the downloaded file, and dynamically set a control to display the
downloaded image file. Note that I have never done this from within
Access 2003, only using VB.NET in standalone projects.

The "Microsoft Web Browser" control did the trick. Thank you both for
your responses!
