Analyze Tool & Lost Data

P: n/a
Hi,

I want to report a problem I had with splitting a table using the
anaylze tool. I started with 92000 records and in the child table
ended up with around 10,000 records. Now I assumed that access did
it's best to remove duplicates and achieve a degree of data
normalization. Which was indeed the case. All well and good until a
few weeks later I discover to my horror.....missing data! and so I
repeated the whole scenario and ended up with the same result. Around
200 unique records that existed before the spit disappeared after the
split. In the end I made sure the split didn't remove any duplicates
by include a unique key and then I removed the duplicates with my own
script.

Anyhow, I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem
or knows how this might happen.
Cheers,
Jennifer
