tables and relationships

Hi I am trying to create a database. I decided to split some of the
information into two tables (not sure if this is best idea), as some
entries may have these extra information some not.

Example:

asset table has information about certain attributes of asset.
system info table has specific information which not all assets will
have.

I linked them via assetID tag its coming up as one-to-one relationship,
it doesn't work how I want it to and I know it should be that type of
link.

Firstly should it be a one-to-more, as not all assets will have system
info. and should I not link the system info table via the primary key
assetID

Any help be good
