Yet another Query Linking Question

P: n/a
I'm sorry to populate the server with yet another question about
linking multiple tables and queries, howerver I have not been able to
find the right criteria.

My problem.

I am trying to either link 3 tables together in a select query, and
maintain the editablity that I get when linking two tables and creating
a form. I know there is a way to link 3 tables through multiple queries
however I have yet to be able to get it to work.

More specifically.

I have a form that only requires two tables to come together through a
query, this way the form or records are editable. My report for this
form has one function bound (unbound with a function in the control
source) text box that requires I pull information from a table outside
of my two table query form. I am a beginner and have no clue as how to
write code. So is there a way to reference information stored on a form
that is closed at the time it is needed to be accessed, through the
control source or a macro? Please let me know if you need for
information. Thanks again everyone.

I don't know all of the specifics, however, if you need to pull a value from
a table outside the record source query, one alternative would be to use the
DLookup function. The third parameter of this function allows you to
specify the criteria for the value, which you can tie to one or more fields
in your record source query. Depending on the exact circumstances, this
would have the same effect as joining the table with the other two in the
record source query. The following link gives more information on the
DLookup function.
