Remove Automatic Email Link

I have a form for my user, but she has no experience and no internet
connection.

Just in case, I am putting the field "email address" in her customer
records (I believe we can move her towards computer, internet and email
use).

However, I don't want the email address to automatically be "clickable"
and open, or try to open, an email editor.

Is there a way to turn that off? I just want it to be a plain text
field, though I've been trying to write a function to examine the field
to make sure if it's entered, it's in the right format.

Are you setting the "email address" field's datatype to Hyperlink? If so,
try setting it to plain Text. That may help.

Thanks - I wish I had thought of that! I still had to go into the form
and change the formatting from blue and underline to black. It works!
