Or, in this case, store the data in a true server-based RDBMS, even if
it's the MSDE. Except for MySQL, almost all of these RDBMS have
programmable triggers for tables (and views...) which would facilitate
what you want to do at the lowest level possible, i.e., do something
when data is inserted or deleted from a table.
The typical book example is adding information to a transaction
history/audit table...
