Help! Access 2000 modules disappeared but still there?!?!?!?!

Hello,

I have an Access 2000 database that's somehow gotten corrupt. It's on a
stand alone machine. I started to get an error something to the effect of
"Error Accessing the Network" (strange,...the computer is not on a network).
Now, I get errors trying to open the modules (can't even open them) saying
"The module name 'mymodule' is misspelled or refers to a module that doesn't
exist". When I go into project explorer by creating a new module, the new
module is the only one I see. When I try to import modules from a Back Up
db, I get an error saying that the name conflicts with existinsg module, no
record, the search key was not found in any record, and something about
transactions being nested.

Unfortunately, this comes right after spending hours of tedious work
modifying a lot of forms, so it will be very frustrating if I can't bring
this back to a workable state.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Perhaps you inadvertently hid the modules (though I don't think that
would throw your errors).
Tools + Options + View
Place a check in the Show Hidden Objects box.

If that was the problem, after you can view the object, right-click on
the module name. Select properties. Uncheck the Hidden Attribute.
Then go back to the Options and remove the check from Show Hidden
objects.

Nope, that's not it. I always have unhide hidden and system objects set. I
can see the containers (i.e. "MyModule" ) in the db window, but not in the
project window or anywhere else for that matter.

Can you see the code in the VBA window? If so, all is not lost.

Nov 13 '05 #4
No, no code in the VBA window. It's like the only thing that's there is the
name and icon in the db window, nothing else. The thing is, it won't let me
delete the name and icon either, stating that the module is not found.
Grrrrrrr.r..

I think you will find there is an Access 2K bug that can do this if you
attempt to copy or import an object from another database. See article
304548 in Support. (You can type this number into Google).
