Running windows functions without using OCX ?

I want to use the printer select menu's and the open file menu's from
within my Access 2002 databases. When I do it uses a file called
COMDLG32.OCX In many of our locations they don't have the same version
that I have and the db fails to run. I've taken those things out of my
db's and removed the common dlg check from my references and everything
is running fine. I've also sent my copy of comdlg32 to the user having
a problem and that runs OK. Problem is they have other functions that
break cause I changed the version of the OCX.

You can avoid the OCX for the File Open dialog by using API calls. There's a
complete example at http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0001.htm at "The
Access Web"

I didn't think the Printer Select dialog was actually in that control....

I'm going to check this out. I really like using the open dialog but
couldn't because of the OCX issue. Thank you!!!
