Getting max length

How would I go about selecting the record in a table that has the
greatest number of characters in a column defined as a MEMO datatype?

In a query

create a field Len([MemoField]) and then instead of GROUP BY, use MAX. Sort
descending and for the properties of the query (rt click on the grid) set the
TOP VALUES property to 1
