DAO 3.51 and DAO 3.6

Can someone tell what's the diference between DAO 3.50 and DAO 3.6,
I've got some trouble with my database actually and I thing it's aout
this 2 files.

DAO 3.5x is designed to work with JET 3.5, so you use it in Access 97.

DAO 3.6 is designed to work with JET 4, so you use this library in Access
2000 and later.

You are likely to end up with some strange behavior if you don't use the
right version for your version of Access. For example, if you convert an
Access 2000 database back to A97 and don't manually change the DAO library
back to 3.51, you will have problems.

Er, if you use the Access UI to do it, this is handled for you. It's
only if you're doing it manually, though code, that this would be an
issue. Yes?

That's not my experience, David.

When I convert back from A97 using the Access 2003 interface, I have to
manually change the DAO library.
