I need to update a date in a table with
48,000 rows. My very simple
update query:
"UPDATE tblDWHExtract INNER JOIN tblGlobalPlans ON tblDWHExtract.GAPlanID
= tblGlobalPlans.GAPlanID SET tblGlobalPlans.GPSSetupDate = [GPS Setup
Date];"
times out every time I try to run it.
What are my other options?
What / where is [GPS Setup Date]? If it is referring to a Control on a Form,
you might get some advantage if you'd create the SQL string to contain the
_value_ of that Control.
Is your data across a LAN or WAN, and, if so, could you run from the server
where your data is stored? Have you considered changing the timeout value?
Have you considered using a WHERE condition to limit the updates, and doing
this in multiple executions of SQL?
