If I want to use index keywords for a (simple) database of
quotations, do I need to set each word up in a separate field,
or can I list multiple words in a single field? Or is this the
wrong question? TIA
The correct structure for a keywords table has two fields, the
first contains a word, the second contains the primary key to the
quotation record.
However, unless you are storing very long quotations, and lots of
them, the Jet engine is much quicker in finding the text directly
in the field that using a separate keywords table, routines that
then parse out your request and find a match.
SELECT * from Quotation WHERE Quotation.quotation LIKE "*brown fox
jumps*"
