I'm not 100% certain that's correct. Access is extremely sensitive when it
comes to references. If referenced files are not in the same location, you
will often get a References problem. Some seem to be "self-correcting": I'm
not sure whether DAO falls in this category.
On the other hand, I can't think of a legitimate reason not to have the DAO
library in the "correct" place. It's not sufficient simply to copy the DLL
and register it: there are dependencies that have to be respected, so you
really should use the standard Jet SP installer.

No, it wouldn't matter where the library is located, as long as the
library is correctly registered

news:3j8Pe.11456$Hk.3363@pd7tw1no... Hello,
I'm wondering if the physical path of a library really matters as long as
the library is registered with windows.
FOr instance, if I have the DAO 3.6 object library in C:\Temp\ on my
computer, but another computer has the same library registred in
C:\Windows\System32\, would I still get a "MISSING: reference" when I try
to run the database on the second computer?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
