report grouping by week, month, year ..

Bob
I wish to group data on a report by week, month and year. Crystal reports
has this ability as a built in function. Is there a quick way to do this in
Access97/2000 VBA reports ?

Thank you in advance, Bob.

Sure. Study the "Summary of Sales by Quarter" report in the Northwind
sample application. You'll find that you can create a grouping level
and group not only by a field, but by an expression such as:
=DatePart("q",[ShippedDate])

Right click in the Report Design view and select "Sorting and Grouping"
if you then select a date field....
there will be grouping options below..."Week, month, year etc."
