Making white sections of a picture (used in a report) transparent.

I've got a YES/NO section of a report I'm making. Depending on certain
values, I want to circle either YES or NO. I've got the code working so
it'll show or hide the circle, but I can't seem to get the circle
(which I drew in Adobe Photoshop because I want the handwriting look)
to be transparent (ie show the Yes or the No in the middle of it). I've
tried right clicking and setting background to transparent but still no
luck.

The thing that is really confusing me is a picture I inserted ealier IS
transparent, but all the properties appear to be the same when I
compare that picture with my circle. Another curious thing is when I
moved the transparent picture out of the 'Detail' section into the
'Footer' section, it lost its transparency. CONFUSED!!!

Any ideas much appreaciated...

Cheers

Reg, a picture is not transparant AFAIK, someone correct me if I'm
wrong. What probably happened in the earlier example was that the
control with the yes/no check box or text box or whatever was probably
ON TOP of the picture.

I'm doing a lot of work lately with maps that are linked to an OLE
object but I have a grid of rectangles (actually label controls with a
border and invisible background property) so I know you can have
controls over top of a picture.

What I'd do is make sure that the control you want to see is on top of
the OLE control. Use format bring to front and see if that works.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Tim,

I'm not sure you can 'Bring to Front" in Access can you. That was the
first thing I thought of doing (like you can in Word), but when you
right click on the picture, there's no "Bring to Front" or "Send to
Back" option. You were right though, in regard to it being in front. I
found out how it happened - the picture was only infront of those other
controls which I made after I inserted the picture..... so I just
inserted the picture, copy-deleted and then pasted the text box and HEY
PRESTO, the YES/NO showed up through the red circle. If only you could
see it Mr Marshall..... it looks very special indeed.

Thanks for you help mate,

Reg
