copy a record

Here's a quandry. I have an input form with Name, Date, & Action.
When the user puts in the name, date & action, sometimes they need to
create another new record with Name & Date, so another action can be
picked.

How do I get access to create a new record with the data from the last
record?

Thanks in advance,
Laura

two options -
use CTRL-' (single quote) to copy the value from the previous record
for both fields

use an append query using the current record's unique ID as the
criterion.

Dunno if this will work, but on the afterupdate events of the Name and
Date controls, try setting the DefaultValue properties to what was just
entered. That is:

Private Sub Name_AfterUpdate()
Name.DefaultValue = Me.Name
End Sub
