Simple Update Query

P: n/a
I have the following query :
UPDATE SH_Tourcodes LEFT JOIN Tour ON (SH_Tourcodes.RECEIPT =
Tour.RECEIPT) AND (SH_Tourcodes.TILL = Tour.TILL) AND
(SH_Tourcodes.TIME = Tour.TIME) AND (SH_Tourcodes.DATE = Tour.DATE) SET

Tour.TOURCODE = [SH_Tourcodes]![TOURCODE];
SH_Tourcodes is a query to filter out some records, Tour is a
straightforward table.
When I try and run this I get the message "Operation must use an
updateable query".
I am tearing my hair out - grateful for any assistance.

Do any other update queries work for this data?
From a search for your error message it appears that you need to make

sure you have full permissions for the database file/folder.

Yes. It is a table created locally within an access db from a SQL
table. I cannot fathom it out. It may be that my version of Access is a
little iffy. I have managed to solve it by running the query at SQL
Level.

Thanks for your time.
