Corruption of Back End

Hi

I have a split db where the BE is on an MS SQL Server and the FE on 8
local Win2K workstations.

The BE db is corrupting with alarming frequency giving an error about
an unrecognisable database format. The .ldb file is locked and can't be
deleted. Repair works but takes a long time and everyone has to be out
of the db for that time. This is causing difficulties as it is
happening so often.

Any ideas why the BE might be corrupting - no pattern that I can
establish to the occurrences in terms of development, usage etc. The BE
contains tables and some linked SQL tables - there are no forms,
queries, reports, modules, macros etc.

It is c.80mb in size.

Many thanks
Marian
