crosstab queries formatting question

Is there any way to format a date field in a crosstab query so that
instead of displaying as "01/04/2006, 01/05/2006", they display as "Apr
06, May 06" and still keeps their date properties.

I can make it look like "mmm yyyy", but the problem I found is that
when I do this it changes it to text and so then the order of the dates
is in alphabetical order rather than the real date order.

I have already formatted the root table to be mmm yyyy but this makes
no difference to the display in the crosstab query.

Any workarounds to this would be gratefully appreciated!

Thanks
hw

If the dates are column heading, lookup "IN" under cross tab query

PIVOT qryCrosstab.datefield in ("Apr 06","May 06","Jun 06");

If the dates are in rows, format them in your report.
