Access 2003 - Error 1706. No valid source for product DAO.

P: n/a
Hello world:

I am borrowing my daughter's laptop to make a presentation to a customer
next week. It has Windows XP Pro, SP2 and Office 2003 Pro, SP1 on it. When
I open a database in Access, I get the above error message. When I click
"Cancel" a bunch of times, it finally goes away. Everything seems to work
in my Access app, which is based upon DAO.

I have tried repairing the Office 2003, and even reinstalling Office 2003.
Absolutely no change. I still get the same error message.

Googling this error is not a big help. Microsoft's explanation of the error
is based on Windows 2000 and has nothing to do with my situation.

Has anyone out there run into this problem with Access 2003? What did you
do to fix it? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I haven't had this error, but have had similar. Try downloading the
latest MDAC from microsoft and installing them.
