In the U.S., are EIN's nine digits long like SSN's?

I just had to ask it here. I know many of you
have run into this issue before when providing
table fields for tax ID numbers (employer identification
numbers and social security numbers).

Yes. The mask for SSN's is xxx-xx-xxxx. The mask for EIN's is
xx-xxxxxxx.
