On Exit Event Disables Navigtation Buttons

I have a subform where I added some code to the on_exit events for
several controls on the subform. Now, if the cursor is in one of these
controls when you click on a navigation button (the built-in ones), the
navigation button does not work. I need these exit events because they
update the values of other controls on the subform. Can anyone tell me
why this is happening, and what I can do better?

Try the AfterUpdate event of the controls.
