After Update event

P: n/a
Hi
I use a calendar to update a field and the after update event no longer
works, if i manually update it there is not a problem. How can I get this
event to trigger

Thanks in advance

I assume you're using some kind of calendar form which updates your field.

Can you get into the code of the calendar form? If so, I would make the
after update code a public function or sub on a standard module and
cut the code from your current form to the new public procedure. You'll
have to change any Me references to Forms!frmMyForm.

The put this proc in the after update event on the field on the form and
also in the calendar form with the button or whatever mechanism is used
to transfer the date to the field on your form.

Again, this assumes the calendar is a form you can get into. I'm not
quite sure what to do if the calendar is some sort of third party control

It sounds like you are using a command button to invoke a calendar to
update a field, say ActionDate for the sake of discussion. After
invoking the calendar to update ActionDate, call
ActionDate_AfterUpdate to simulate having keyed directly into the
field (and thus triggering its After Update event).
