Unable to open database

P: n/a
Hi,
A problem I ahve not encountered before. We use a database to write
students reports and it has been pretty stable. A user received the message

'The Microsoft Jet Database engine stopped the process because you and
another user are attempting to change data at the same time"

I can't repair it or even get data out by looking at the table from another
database. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried creating a new blank database and importing all the
objects in?

Is there a .LDB file? Try deleting the LDB file before loading.

If that doesn't work, I'd have to probably look at the mdb to see
what's wrong.

Yes to the above ... I have creating a new database file and reading from
there, but the same. There is no .ldb file. I've also moved it to other
places, checked ownership. It is all a total mystery.

Still don't understand why this happened, but thanks for help. Put the
whole thing into wordpad and extracted data. Put that in a backup.
Fortunately all pretty small.
